Send money home

Your first transfer is free and arrives in seconds

You sent the money, a few hours have passed, and your family member still hasn't received it. Before you worry, you need information: knowing exactly where the transfer is and what you can do next. The process varies significantly depending on whether you sent it via a bank or a remittance service.

You can track a transfer, but the method depends on the type of transfer: bank transfers use reference numbers and SWIFT messages, while digital remittance services like Félix Pago show the status directly in the chat, in real time.

‍

How to track a bank transfer

Banks record every transaction with a unique reference number. That number is your primary tool for tracking the money. Follow these steps:

1. Check your history in your online banking or mobile app

Most banks show the status of each transfer as "processed," "pending," or "in transit." Search for the transaction by date or amount and check if the status has changed since you initiated it.

2. Contact your bank with the reference number

If the status isn't updating or you see something unusual, call your bank's customer service and provide the transfer reference number. With that information, an agent can give you an exact status update.

3. For international transfers, request the SWIFT trace (MT103)

International transfers go through the SWIFT network. You can ask your bank for the MT103 message, which is the official proof confirming that the transfer was sent. With that document, the receiving bank can also track the money on their end.

4. For SPEI transfers within Mexico, use the Banxico CEP

If the transfer is between Mexican accounts via SPEI, the Bank of Mexico offers the Electronic Payment Receipt (CEP), a free tool where you can verify if the transaction was settled using the reference number, amount, and date.

How to track a remittance sent via a digital service

Digital remittance services work differently than banks. You don't have to call anyone or wait for a bank statement: tracking is built into the service flow.

1. Check your chat history or the service app

If you used Félix to send money, the transfer status appears directly in your WhatsApp conversation. Each stage of the process (received, in process, deposited) is recorded there. If the confirmation message doesn't appear, scroll up in the chat to verify that the transaction was initiated correctly.

2. Check standard delivery times before contacting support

Times vary depending on the delivery method: bank deposits with Félix are usually credited in about 30 minutes in most countries (in Mexico, in minutes; in the Dominican Republic, up to 4 hours). Cash pickups are available in minutes in most cases. If you are within that timeframe, the transaction is likely still in progress.

3. If the expected time has passed and the money hasn't arrived, contact support with your transaction ID
